I am a retired High School Arts Education, Science and Cooking teacher from Melfort, SK. I have Bachelor of Education (‘94) and Studio Art (‘02) Degrees from the University of Saskatchewan.
Painting has always been my favorite discipline and I use oil, acrylic and watercolor mediums. While teaching I created artwork as gifts for family, friends and students. Creating artwork has always been a passion of mine and color has always played a huge role.
When viewing a piece of art work I am always attracted to its colors. I am captivated by the moods these colors create and the feelings they can portray. The color scheme of an artwork evokes emotion and memories and can transport the viewer to a specific time and place. I am inspired by images of beauty that exist around me – places I have travelled to, places I have lived, objects that are
around me and that I have come across during my lifetime.
My own artwork instinctively reflects my love of color. I love to experiment with different color schemes and how they translate onto canvas, providing the viewer with a unique sensory experience.
I am excited to now share my art with the public!
